Love It or Leave It…(a.k.a. Don’t Rock the Boat)
Love it or Leave It sounds like a decent phrase. The problem, as I see it, is the fact that when someone says Love it, they aren’t meaning “love” it. They are saying be happy or content with it as it is. Don’t speak up or offer any criticism, be it constructive or positive. Don’t ruffle feathers, make waves, etc. We just want you to like our way of doing and if you do we will call you a patriot. We might even call you a loyal American. But make a suggestion out of concern for the well being of our country and you are no longer a patriot. You are a protester, a dissenter, against the troops, un-American. There are protesters and dissenters out there that are aggravating and annoying. They don’t help the situation, but there is a place for dissent in government. That is how you can start change and reform. There has to be a rub. It may be a bit messy and unpleasant. It would seem that if you are willing to go against the grain for the betterment of something at your own expense or possible criticism by others, then that would be a sign of really “loving” something. Anybody can turn a deaf ear or look past something, but who’s gonna stand up on principle and really take the heat. That shouldn’t be stigmatized as Unpatriotic or Un-American any longer!
Viva la Vida – Coldplay
I’m liking the new Coldplay Album, Viva la Vida. You should check it out. I preordered it on iTunes and listened to this single release. It downloaded to my computer when the album was released and I have been listening to it ever since. As always, I have to let it saturate for a bit.
America is the Greatest Best Country That God Has Ever Given Man on the Face of the Earth.
Yes, “America is the greatest best country that God has ever given man on the face of the earth.” That’s what Sean Hannity says. I have this strong urge to call him a “tard,” as in “RE-tard.” Here’s what Stephen Colbert said about him 2 weeks ago in this video:

Sunday…Party Day, Not Nap Day!
Okay, maybe feast day would be more appropriate, but that would be a boring title. Pastor Wilkins really provided some helpful insight in his sermon that got me thinking more about this topic of how we as Christians should treat our sabbath, the Lord’s Day. This is something that I have really been thinking on and about lately.
Sunday shouldn’t be this day of isolation where you read or keep to yourself. Sunday is a day to celebrate the work we have done in the previous week. God didn’t need to rest after creating the universe in 6 days. He rejoiced in what he had done. That should be the same emphasis we have toward Sundays.
