It’s A Choral Week.

This week I am helping with a choral camp at UL-Monroe. I am going to be starting my masters in Choral Conducting there in the fall of this year, Lord willing. It is going to give me a chance to visit and work with the department, my fellow grad students, and get a taste for what it will be like.

Also, I am preparing little by little, for my choir/theory/sight-singing class at Geneva Academy. I’ll only be part time there as I will be full time at the church. It is going to be a diverse choir that will range in age and meet 3 days a week. It is a challenge that I am greatly looking forward to.
Also, I am starting to get clients for my new piano tuning business, Richey Piano Service. That is exciting and a bit humbling.

How many of you thought that this blog was going to be about the Fox TV Show, “24″? Well, I am sorry to disappoint you but 24 is not a reference to the TV show but rather to my age as of today.

Yes, today is my 24th birthday. I get to share it with family in a nice enjoyable weekend at our new home in Monroe, Louisiana.
Five Other Notable People Who Share June 21st as their Birthday too:
  • Martha Washingtonwife of Pres. George Washington
  • Prince Williamoldest son of Prince Charles
  • Brandon Flowers – The Killers’ vocalist & keyboardist
  • Benazir Bhutto – former Prime Minister of Pakistan who was recently assassinated.
  • Conrad L. Hallcinematographer of films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, American Beauty, & Road to Perdition
There are some more out there but these are the ones that stood out to me.

Well, I am excited to say that I am getting this business underway. I have spent 2 years of study and training in the area of Piano Technology, namely piano tuning and repair. I am still working towards levels of certification. I now am starting to take on a small load of clients so that I can build my experience. Be sure to check out my website and send me an email if you need your piano tuned.

N.T. Wright on the "Colbert Report"

Bishop N.T. Wright appeared on the Colbert Report last evening to discuss his newest book, Surprised By Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church. It was a brief and typical interview of Colbert, but was an enjoyable watch. This is the same Bishop that came to Monroe to our Auburn Avenue Pastors Conference and spoke in 2005.
