Oleta Richey and Angela Lansbury

So, it has struck me that the Tony Award winning actress, Angela Lansbury and my paternal grandmother have some resembling qualities. My grandmother is now deceased, but she wore her hair in similar ways to Angela Lansbury. She had a red tint to her hair like Angela Lansbury does. Also, they are about a year apart. It is not a celebrity double or exact look-a-like. It just strikes me funny when I see her. There is some sort of resemblence there.

Jingle Hell

I can’t get these jingles out of my head. I am sure you have seen these for Freecreditreport.com. They are serving their purpose and getting the product out there. The main guy is a Canadian, Eric Violette:

They are catchy. I kind of like them. It’s just that they stick to me and I can’t get them out of my head! You’re welcome, by the way. Now you too will be humming or singing these jingles at odd times of the day.

Rethinking Heaven!

Bishop N.T. “Tom” Wright has created a recent stir among news organizations with his explanations of “life after life after death.” He challenges the modern view of heaven and life after death. The problem is that this view is just that, modern. Dr. Wright reminds us that this view is not how the Church has viewed “Heaven” and “Death.” No one is talking about heaven and life after death except Tim LaHaye and Hal Lindsey with their “Left Behind” series of books. Many Christians just believe what they say by default, even though they may not acknowledge that is what they are doing. Most of us don’t understand what the Bible says about life after our deaths.

N.T. Wright’s interview with TIME magazine was very insightful. The piece was titled, “Christians Wrong About Heaven, Says Bishop” by David Van Biema.
Also, ABC News featured an interview with Bishop Wright on the same issue: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AA0NLb0pXGI
I want to read the book by Dr. Wright, Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church. It looks to be very insightful and helpful.
